Most often we are most concerned about choosing the right Business Analysis Training or Certification. In this quest we often tend to research about accredited training providers or trainers. As a matter of fact it becomes too late when we discover that the trainer or the training institution is not accredited or the training content doesn’t match up to your expectation. This is a very common thing to happen with anyone. But is there a way out to come out of it?
Certainly Yes! SELF AWARENESS is the only way out here. I have conducted more than 15 Business Training batches since 2017 and below are some quick observations I would like to share with you all.
STEP 01: UNDERSTAND YOUR TRAINING NEEDS
Firstly, we need to understand our training needs. This can be justified by asking few simple questions to ourselves like what is the purpose of the training. We have various varieties of training conducted in the industry these days like:

★ Business Analysis Hands On Training
★ Business Analysis Certification Training
★ Business Analysis Competency Development Training
★ Business Analysis Domain Specialization Training
You need to understand here that each of these training module are targeted towards a specific set of audience and comes with specific benefits.
STEP 02: UNDERSTAND ACCREDITATION
What exactly we need to research here? Well! even before researching anything you need to first understand the meaning of ACCREDITATION.
ACCREDITATION is a license issued by a certifying body like: IIBA/BCS/IREB/APMG/PMI that recognizes the training provider to conduct specific training for a specified period of time. You can easily find accredited training providers list on the certifying bodies website.
There are certain checklist you need to follow here like:
★ Check the list of endorsed courses by the training provider. Not all the courses offered by the training providers are endorsed and eligible for PDUs.
★ Check the expiration date of the license issued to the training provider.

What are the benefits of accredited training?
★ You earn PDUs post completion of the training that is needed by some certifying bodies like IIBA/PMI mandatory in order to apply for their certification. These PDUs are valid up to a period of 4 years depending upon the certifying bodies.
★ You can also use these PDUs towards re certification requirements.
It is recommended to enroll for certification training only after having undergone some awareness training in Business analysis to better comprehend the subject as these training are targeted towards certifications only and has very little inference with the real world situations.
STEP 03: SELECTION OF RIGHT TRAINERS
Like training providers do trainers needs to be accredited as well?
Well! As of now in the profession of Business Analysis there is nothing called as Accredited Trainer. But something that you need to check here if the trainer is self certified before conducting training on that subject. You can easily find their certification information here:

Most trainers these days represents themselves as qualified Business Analysis Trainer and fabricate their credentials to gain course participants.
THE BUSINESS OF IMPERSONATING TRAINING INSTITUTES
Not all the institutes are accredited for conducting business analysis training because they have to shell a hefty price for getting the license plus go through a stringent course approval process.
HOW TO FIND IMPERSONATING TRAINING INSTITUTES OR TRAINER?
A very common tactic is to ask participants: “INBOX OR MESSAGE FOR DETAILS”. While there are some handful trainers who do it with genuine intention. Most impersonating trainers or training institutes fabricate their credentials or accreditation to gain leads
SHOULD I ONLY ENROLL FOR ACCREDITED BUSINESS ANALYSIS TRAINING?
Certainly not! As I explained above you need to first understand your needs and type of training you need and decide thereon. If you decide to undergo accredited training ensure the trainer is credible and the training institute is accredited. But these should be clearly conveyed before the beginning of the training so there are no difference of opinion later.
RESPECT FOR TRAINERS
As we all know irrespective of the way leads are collected the trainers spend considerable amount of time delivering content to you. There is no harm in being thankful to them.
